The US, like all other economies, has inequality in terms of income, wealth, access to education and educational attainment, and other such matters. Inequality varies over time under the influence of various factors. Opinion can be divided on the cause (or causes) of the inequality, the reasons for its increase or decrease, and on what can and should be done to make the economy more equitable.
This assignment is a short piece of between 400 to 500 words on the state of the US economy in terms of inequality. Choose one aspect of inequality — such as income, wealth, educational attainment, etc — and write an analytical piece on how has it varied over time, the reasons attributed for the changes, the effect on economic growth, and what (if anything) could be one about it, and whether anything should be done about it. Please mention references at the end of the piece.
